So we had the most beautiful weather on our field trip to Skagit Valley. I have never been there before and was astounded at the beauty all around! The students loved climbing the stumps that were dotting the landscape, soon to be covered up and turned back into Ross Lake. We learned about the "riparian zone" and the animals and fish that live there. We also learned about watersheds and various types of energy. The students listened intently and gave great responses to their ideas for the best forms of energy. We had a lovely lunch in the pavilion, and I was surprised with birthday decorations and a cake! They all made me feel very special and I've decided maybe it's not so bad to turn ...sorry, just can't say it. Dates to remember: Tuesday, June 1st Wheelie Week Day for grade 5/6.
